“ME” Monday® 8-16-2021 Get-away

When planning an escape from our daily schedules, how might we want to create our ideal get-away experience?

During these uncertain times, it may feel difficult to plan. These consistently shifting phases have kept us on our toes and the conundrum might be how to make sure we can still feel like we’ve had a break.

What might the picture-perfect break look like? It may appear different for everyone depending on what we want to achieve.

So, what’s the goal of this desired get-away? Do we want to rest and relax, get a change of scenery, or enjoy some physical activity like hiking, biking, picnicking, or sailing for example?

Once we set the tone for our ideal plan, we can begin to formulate how we can create an idyllic environment to accomplish what we want.

When we were kids, where did we escape to when we built little forts or tents out of furniture and blankets or sat in treehouses exploring imaginative places? What felt necessary about that?

As adults, how might we want to recreate those feel-good memories as ‘big’ kids? Let’s imagine for a moment what that might look like.

How many different ideas for a retreat might we be able to think of? The list might turn out longer than we think.

If travel isn’t an option, how might we be able to design this vacation where we are?

No matter where we are in the world, we might not have to look further than our local area for some great ideas.

For those of us living in year-round warm weather climates, planning activities outdoors can be a great start. Some of us around the world may be experiencing winter or cooler weather; therefore, outdoor and indoor activities might be equally exciting possibilities. It’s about determining what memories we want to form and recall again later on.

It seems we may always plan destination holidays and forget about what is right in our backyards, even our very OWN backyard!

Away is a place where it’s not about the money you spend; it’s about the moments you share”, says Pink Owl Momma (https://www.facebook.com/PinkOwlMomma/).

Remember no matter where we live, it’s a place other people may travel to for their visits andvacations.

So, why not be a local tourist? It doesn’t have to be something that costs much money. There are many FREE opportunities within our local cities we may not be aware are available.

Why not act like a local tourist and do something that fulfills the image of our perfect get-away experience and have fun!

How about taking an adventurous local drive for some fresh air and new scenery, plan activities, or just lounge around doing “ME” or “US” stuff?

Prioritizing quality family time and a tiny bit of “ME” time can be like a “diamond in the rough”, very precious.

What might it be like if we live every day with adventure and live every tomorrow with a little bit more?

How daring might we feel to plan some excursion especially for ourselves?

Whatever the perfect break looks like, make it special, and don’t forget the “ME” time!

It’s “ME” Monday® after all, a weekly holiday designed especially for us so we can get away from the regular routines.

By implementing a “ME” Monday® routine today, we can improve our overall ROI to have a great today and determine the tomorrow we deserve!
